Nokia Lumia 635 dated for 3rd July

Nokia Lumia 635

The 4G version of the Lumia 630 will also have glowing dual-layered polycarbonate shell designs

Nokia has announced that the Lumia 635, the 4G verison of the Lumia 630, will be available to buy in the UK from the 3rd July 2014. The phone will cost £120 SIM free and come with Microsoft’s latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, making it Nokia’s second WP8.1 handset on the market.

“Building around the excitement of the 630 launch, we are delighted to announce the Lumia 635,” said Conor Pierce, VP of Microsoft Devices for the UK & Ireland. “This powerful 4G device boasts quad-core processing and the uncompromised Windows 8.1 experience which is all packed into a beautiful design at an affordable price point.”

It’s essentially the same phone as the Lumia 630, so it has a 4.5in screen with a 854 x 480 resolution, a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, a 5-megapixel camera and 8GB of storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

The main difference between the two phones, aside from the Lumia 635 having 4G, is the Lumia 630 only has a plain matt shell case. The Lumia 635, however, will come with a new glowing dual-layered polycarbonate case and will be available in bright orange, bright green and bright yellow. If those colours sound a little too “in your face” for your tastes, matt black and white versions will also be on sale.

The Lumia 635 will be available from Vodafone, EE, 3, Phones4U, O2, Carphone Warehouse, Tesco and Amazon.
