The Art & Craft Studio range includes programs for making T-shirt transfers, desk calendars and greetings cards.

This kit includes four A5 magnetic sheets for making fridge magnets. They're not much thicker than photo paper, so should work with most inkjets; we used an Epson R265 and had no problems.

After the lengthy installation, a dated-looking Studio interface loads. You can opt to go straight to the help section, open a predefined template or start a blank document.

It's simple to import and resize photos and clip art, add frames to photos and create custom text. You can resize and move images within frames, but you can't alter the thickness of a frame. There are lots of other templates, including calendars, numbers, letters, chores lists and more.

When we came to print our magnets, we discovered that the document had defaulted to A4, which is annoying as the kit comes with A5 magnets. The print preview accurately showed what would be printed, allowing us to alter the margins to ensure the edges of our design were correctly printed. However, we would advise a test print on to plain paper first. Photos didn't look stunning on the non-glossy surface finish, but clip art and text looked fine.

We were frustrated to repeatedly find options such as Premium Content tabs and extra document types such as calendars and greetings cards, only to be directed to the website to buy them. However, there is a useful link to www.pcartandcraft.com for buying more magnetic sheets. When we checked, four A5 sheets cost a reasonable £5 including VAT.
