It's mystifying that the iPhone lacks a built-in way to send your contact details or someone else's as a vCard, which is what this application does via email.
It works much like sending an email, asking you to fill in the To and From fields, with the ability to choose which of your addresses to send from, and even permitting you to play imposter and pretend you're someone else in your contact list.
Tapping the graphical preview of the vCard lets you choose which contact will be sent. The Settings button lets you choose which details are included. Separate options enable you to explicitly exclude mobile phone numbers, website addresses and the Notes field, in case you've stored sensitive information there.
The method of choosing fields is undoubtedly quick, although it doesn't allowfine-grained choices on a field-by-field basis, so you can't just send someone's work email address without also including their phone number. One addition that would be useful is the ability to send details over Bluetooth to another handset, so that recipients without an Internet-connected handset can immediately use them.
However, vCard Mailer is a simple and effective application, so much so that we're a little nonplussed that Apple didn't include its functionality as a standard feature.
