Specifications

Let's get this straight: the Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 850W is a beast of a power supply measuring 190mm deep. It'll still fit in the vast majority of cases, though, and the modular design at least means that you don't have to connect the cables you don't need, reducing clutter.

Having a larger case means that there's room for a 135mm fan, rather than the PSU-standard of 120mm. Large fans can shift more air while spinning slower and quieter. We have no complaints at all about noise here as the SilentWings-fan, was extremely quiet.

This is a 80 Plus Gold Standard PSU, which means it's at least 88 per cent efficient at all loads. However, it was even better in our tests. It managed 89.75 per cent at 100 per cent load, 91.67 per cent at 50 per cent load and 88.92 per cent at 20 per cent load. This makes it one of the most efficient PSUs that we've tested.

This PSU is way more efficient than its 80 Plus Gold standard certification

As well as efficient it's flexible with completely modular cabling and tons of connectors, including nine Molex, nine SATA and six 6+2-pin PCI Express. There are even four case fan connectors, with the PSU controlling their speed automatically based on temperature.

Yes, the Dark Power Pro 10 850W is expensive, but given its efficiency, number of connectors and quietness it's certainly worth the money if you're building a high-end system and want the best.
