Putting the occasional item for sale on the internet auction site eBay is straightforward thanks to eBay's own step-by-step interface.

But it can become rather tedious if you have lots of items to list, so anything that can make the process easier has to be worth a look.

SuperSeller for eBay aims to simplify multiple listings with professional-looking page templates, FTP-based picture uploading and an auction management database that lets you keep track of your sales and customers.

Creating a listing couldn't be simpler; just enter an item title and subtitle if required and type in the item's details. Where it differs from eBay itself is that detailed default information such as terms and conditions of sale and shipping rates can be entered automatically and much quicker than is possible online.

Hosting your own pictures means you don't have to pay eBay's picture fees, and SuperSeller lets you upload directly to your own web space. We experienced a few problems with this, with some images failing to upload despite the program assuring us that our FTP settings would work.

As soon as you're happy with your listings, they can be uploaded in one go and all that remains is for you to sit back and wait for them to sell. Once an auction has finished, the total price is calculated and an automated email can be sent out to the buyer.

There are a few rough edges, with occasional German error messages and currency glitches, but generally it behaved itself and certainly makes the selling experience a whole lot easier. Its biggest problem is that eBay's own Turbo Lister software does most of this already at no cost, making it difficult to justify the expense.
