Our Rating
This website covers literacy, numeracy and science.
There's a comprehensive range of Teacher Options, which can also be used by parents who want to keep an eye on how their child is progressing. Each of the three sections is further divided into sections for each year, from reception (age four to five) to year six. Within each year's section there are between 150 and 200 activities.
How an activity is presented differs depending on the child's age. Younger pupils get colourful graphics and cute talking animations, while older students are given written instructions. The Literacy section also includes a year seven section.
Our testers found the literacy and numeracy sections interesting. The science section failed to grab their imagination, and required much encouragement from the parents for younger children to stick with an activity. The site also ran slowly a few times while we were testing it, despite our broadband connection.
The website provides a huge number of activities in all three subjects. If you need to cater for a wide range of children's ages, it could be economical to subscribe. However, the BBC's Dynamo site proved more engaging for our testers for free.
