Logitech HD Webcam C270 review
Logitech's C270 webcam has a weighted base that makes it easy to sit it on your desk or perch it on a laptop or monitor. When you plug it in, it opens an update wizard automatically, which prompts you to install its software from the internet or the CD in the box. The supplied Webcam Controller application gives you control over image quality settings such as brightness and contrast, as well as allowing you to digitally zoom the image and then pan around it. There's no video window to let you test the camera or record your own video clips, though.
Also available in a more-traditional black
The C270 has a maximum resolution of 1,280x720 and fantastic picture quality. Colour balance was also great, without any odd lighting tints. The microphone picked up our voice with surprisingly life-like accuracy, too. The version we reviewed has a floral pattern, but more conservative webcam users will be pleased to know that it's also available in black. At just £16, it's a brilliant webcam and a Budget Buy.
