Roccat Hiro review
Verdict:
one of the best mouse mats we’ve used, but it’s prohibitively expensive

It’s tough to get excited about a mouse mat because they’re rarely more than a piece of cloth or plastic, and it’s often difficult to tell the difference between them. Roccat’s Hiro is a little different. it’s a laser-cut combination of rubber and fabric that’s incredibly well made and unlikely to fray or split (assuming you don’t spend your evenings picking at the corners).
At 350x250mm, it’s not the biggest mouse mat we’ve used, especially when paired with Roccat’s own sizable Kone XTD, but this shouldn’t be a problem as the smooth surface copes very well with higher DPI settings; once we’d raised the sensitivity slightly we had no trouble in games. The rubber underside gives it more than enough grip and we used it with different brands of mouse.
If you’re happy with your current mat you probably won’t be tempted by this, especially given its high price. It’s a great mat, but its price means it’s one for Roccat fanboys only.
