The Boombotix BoomBot2 (BB2) looks like a mock-up of an alien grey’s skull, but it’s actually a rugged and portable Bluetooth speaker. Our review sample lacked a manual, which was annoying because pairing Bluetooth devices can be a bit fiddly, even if you’re used to the technology.
Once connected, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and volume of the sound produced by the speaker. It sounded good even at full volume on both speaker and mobile device. Bass frequencies were also clearly audible. This mono speaker isn’t the ultimate hi-fi listening experience by any means, but it’s clear, loud and well balanced.
It looks silly, but this is the ideal Bluetooth speaker for the active hipster in your life. Add the bike mount and it’ll look great on their fixie bike, too.
