You can use it everywhere, but the it's expensive and the quality isn't that impressive.

The Action Cam 2 is an all-purpose video camera designed to capture all of your crazy exploits, from extreme sports to racing.

It’s a compact aluminium tube the size of a small torch, which comes with a windscreen mount, head strap and handlebar bracket. The rear unscrews to reveal a USB socket and a microSD card slot, and the only control is a button on the top with four LED lights to indicate what’s going on. The 3-megapixel sensor can take video in AVI format with a resolution of 640×480 at 24fps, with audio, or take photos at up to 2,048×1,536 resolution.

The video was noisy and frame rates dropped once there was plenty going on, which is most of the time given its intended purpose, but it wasn’t quite as shaky as we’d expected.

Contrast was poor, especially when the sun was ahead of the camera, so we wouldn’t expect good results from skiing trips if the weather is sunny. Overall, the mounts are useful for different situations, and results are fine for quick YouTube or Facebook videos. It’s an interesting present for someone who likes extreme sports, maybe, but at £50 it’s an expensive gift.
