Vodafone brings Unlimited data to mobile broadband

Deal offers 5G coverage at home and abroad

Vodafone is today extending its Unlimited plans to include its mobile broadband offerings, meaning customers will be able to get bottomless data for SIM cards, dongles, tablets and mobile Wi-Fi.

The plans start from £28 per month and promise unlimited data usage in the UK, at speeds of up to 10Mbit/sec, with 48 roam-free destinations in Europe.

Pay £33 for the Unlimited Max plan, on the other hand, and you’ll get access to 5G connectivity, with speeds “as fast as the device and the network will allow,” according to Vodafone.

Customers of this more expensive plan will also get an additional bunch of 29 roaming destinations, including the US, Canada, Australia and Jamaica.

“We launched our market leading range of Unlimited mobile tariffs last year and now we expand Unlimited to include Mobile Broadband plans,” said Max Taylor, consumer director at Vodafone UK, in a statement. “Our customers are empowered to do more of what they love, wherever they may be on the UK’s best mobile data network.”

In our latest review of Vodafone as a service, we found a lot to like in the network’s speed, although weren’t particularly impressed with the restrictions on the unlimited plans:

“Vodafone still has work to do if it wants to catch EE on performance, but there’s an argument that it now offers the best overall balance between performance, features and price. Speeds are good, coverage is where it needs to be and our only real concerns are the low customer satisfaction scores and the speed limitations on the Unlimited services. Get the right phone (or no phone) with the right plan, and Vodafone can be a winner.”
