Mobile broadband deal: This bargain from Three is TERRIFIC

This mobile broadband deal is perfect for money-savers: unlimited 4G for just £13/mth for the first six months of a one-year plan

Mobile broadband deals this good don’t come along every day: Three is currently offering unlimited 4G broadband for a bank balance-pleasing £13/mth for the first six months of a one-year plan, with nothing to pay upfront. From the seventh month, the price will rise to £26/mth, but you’re still saving a tasty £39 overall. And there’s an added bonus: the Huawei 4G Plus MiFi router not only weighs an airy 95g, but it has a battery life of up to six hours, meaning you can use it anywhere – from a train table to the bottom of your garden.

If you’re not familiar with mobile broadband, it uses a 4G or 5G mobile data connection instead of a traditional wired one. That means you can simply plug in (or charge) the hub, connect your device and start browsing. The ultra-portable Huawei 4G Plus MiFi here can even connect up to ten Wi-Fi devices, making it ideal for situations as diverse as getting work done in a cafe, watching Netflix at home or even keeping your kids entertained on a rainy camping trip.

You’re certainly not compromising on quality, either: Three’s 4G network covers 99% of the UK, while it serves up the second-fastest average download speed after EE. If you’re after a fuss-free mobile broadband deal to keep you connected at home and while out, you can’t do much better than this Three offer.

In our latest Three review, we praised its superb SIM, smartphone and broadband deals, as well as its expanding network. One of the sticking points was its comparatively slow 4G download speeds, but that no longer seems to be the case, according to Opensignal. The independent analytics company registered an average of 28Mbits/sec, putting it in second place behind EE.

That’s easily enough for a laptop, tablet or phone to work, game or stream TV at high quality (Netflix recommends a download speed of at least 15Mbits/sec to stream in 4K), and bear in mind that it’s an average figure – if you live somewhere with a strong 4G signal, it’s likely to be higher.

If you live in an area with a strong 5G signal (you can check via Three’s handy tool), it’s worth looking at the company’s 5G plans too. For instance, you can pick up unlimited 5G mobile broadband for just £10/mth for the first six months of a two-year plan (then £20/mth), with nothing upfront. You’ll be treated to screamingly fast speeds because Three is the UK’s fastest 5G provider and has the widest 5G coverage, according to Opensignal

We still recommend the 4G mobile broadband deal for most people, though: you’re getting a decent speed from a pocket-sized Huawei device for half price for six months. Once again, just make sure you sign up as soon as possible while it lasts.
