What is Vodafone like as an internet service provider?
We awarded Vodafone three stars out of five in our original review, reflecting its mixed performance. The service’s primary strengths include its competitive pricing, particularly for existing Vodafone mobile customers, and a diverse range of tariffs that cater to various speed requirements, including gigabit options.
Vodafone’s offerings are among the cheapest in the market, with significant discounts for its mobile subscribers and competitively priced fibre packages. It also offers full-fibre tariffs at the lower end of the price spectrum, enhancing its appeal to budget-conscious consumers.
However, Vodafone’s broadband service has notable shortcomings, particularly when it comes to customer service. For instance, a little over half of the respondents were satisfied with the service received in our annual survey.
Performance-wise, the feedback from customers is mixed. About two-thirds of the surveyed customers were satisfied with the speed of their broadband, but only a small fraction was very satisfied. Reliability scores were slightly better, but still left room for improvement. Vodafone’s broadband service leverages the Openreach network, ensuring wide coverage with 96% of the population having access to an FTTC connection. This wide coverage is a significant advantage, offering potential access to a broad customer base.
