Kia adds three- and five-year service packages to Picanto

Kia Picanto

New design comes with an optional service guarantee

Kia has announced its latest Picanto along with a pair of specially designed national servicing package, available to run for three or five years after purchase – the first Kia vehicle to include such an option.

The new Picanto, which became available for purchase on the 17th of June, promises stronger performance with lower fuel consumption when compared with its predecessor. A redesigned interior also manages to increase the space on offer by a surprising amount while the exterior of the vehicle has barely grown at all.

Available with brand-new 1.0-litre and 1.25-litre Kappa-family petrol engines, promising fuel consumption improvements of up to 8.5mpg compared to the engines used in the previous generation cars. The larger engine is also available with Kia’s EcoDynamics dedicated start/stop technology as an option.

Depending on the model chosen, the Kia Picanto offers 68bhp with 95Nm of torque, or 84bhp and 121N of torque. The smaller engine manages a 0-60mph time of 13.9 seconds, dropping to 11 seconds with the 1.25-litre, and a top speed of 95mph, rising to 106mph with the larger engine.

The exclusive servicing packages cover the first three or the first five services, and is fully transferable should the vehicle be sold within that time. The three-year service package expires after 36 months or 30,000 miles, while the five-year option lasts 60 months or 50,000 miles.

Priced at £259 for the three-year or £499 for the five year – with a £275 ‘top-up’ available for those who want to upgrade to the five-year from the three-year package – Kia claims the deal offers value for money and an inflation-proof way of guaranteeing the future performance of the car.
