O2 is giving away Oculus Go VR headsets worth £200 with its new 5G plans

For £39 per month, you can get the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G with 31GB of data, an Oculus Go VR headset worth £200 and a MelodyVR subscription

O2 may be a little late to join the 5G party, but it’s coming out swinging.

To mark the launch of its 5G network in six cities, O2 has announced a range of plans and bundles which include unlimited data plans for the same price as on 4G, free Oculus Go VR headsets and MelodyVR subscriptions.

The cheapest SIM-only plans start at £25/mth for 5GB of data and unlimited calls and texts, rising to £40/mth for unlimited data, calls and texts. These Custom Plans are the same price, and offer the same data allowance, as O2’s equivalent 4G Custom Plans.

With any of these handsets, you can choose to pay either £39/mth, £43/mth or £48/mth and get 31GB, 60GB or unlimited data, as well as unlimited calls and texts. Each of these plans additionally come with an Oculus Go VR headset (worth £200) plus a 12-month MelodyVR subscription at no extra cost.

This subscription lets you watch gigs as if you were there, via virtual reality, and offers access to all MelodyVR library content, including all recorded shows and original performances available in the app.

What’s more, O2’s Custom Plans let customers move from a Refresh tariff onto a 5G plan at any time.

The Apple iPhone 11Apple iPhone 11 Pro or the Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max also form part of O2’s 5G network launch, even though the devices don’t support 5G yet. If you buy one of these handsets on a 90GB, 120GB or Unlimited tariff direct from O2, you’ll get £100 off the price of next year’s Apple handset, which is expected to come with 5G. This only applies when you upgrade to any new Apple smartphone launched before 30 December 2020, and if you recycle your iPhone 11/Pro/Pro Max directly via O2 Recycle.

If you trade down a tariff, leave O2 or upgrade during the minimum period, this £100 credit will be lost.
