The iPhone 13 and 13 Pro have arrived. Like everyone’s favourite rom-com heroine, Apple’s flagship handsets have reinvented themselves once again, in a bid to steal the show and endear themselves to the general public like never before.
All four new handsets have benefitted from a few technical upgrades such as a slimmer notch, a higher refresh rate and a 25% brighter display. However, nothing is more important in a makeover than looks, and in this regard, the iPhone 13 range has more than delivered. Apple has retired the childish block primary colours of yesteryear, instead opting for a more sophisticated, adult palate, more suitable for those who like Vespas and Wes Anderson films.

iPhone 13 blue
A classic if slightly muted blue. This blue is an excellent midpoint between not wanting to take yourself too seriously, while also not wanting to show off too much personality. The phone equivalent of wearing a nice top and jeans on a night out.

This pink is not your average pink. It’s not your basic millennial or baby pink tailor-made to appear on the ‘gram. It’s more sophisticated than that. Be warned, this hue is not for the faint of heart. If you are the sort to ponder, weak and weary, however, this is an excellent choice. This is the shade for solemn people, widows and goths everywhere, perfect for business matters and contacting relatives (alive OR dead). If you gaze long enough into this abyss, a new, hardier Ceramic Shield glass screen will gaze back.
iPhone 13 Starlight
At first glance, you’d be forgiven for thinking this is a simple white phone. This is Starlight, a new shade that presumably got its name from making Neil DeGrasse Tyson shed a single glistening tear. This is the shade for someone looking at the bigger picture, wanting more from this universe on top of an extra 1.5 hours battery life.

No, this colour is not the Apple website having a wobble. For every PRODUCT(RED) iPhone 13 sold, a percentage of the sale will go to the Global Relief Fund for COVID-19. Yes, this is the charity colour. This is the colour for people who do sponsored runs, always sort their recycling and call themselves an ‘empath’ online.
While it may not be the colour for you, however, it should be known that if you pick any other colour, you don’t care about other people. For shame!
