The iPhone 12 mini is at its second-lowest price ever, thanks to a massive £50 price drop
Deals and savings on Apple products can be hard to come by, with the company’s premium price rarely dropping. However, that’s what makes iPhone deals particularly sweet, and this Apple iPhone 12 mini deal is no different. With a £50 reduction bringing it close to its lowest-ever price on Amazon, those looking for a top-tier phone that doesn’t feel tablet-sized should hop on this deal before it’s gone.
In our full-length review, we gave this pint-sized phone five stars and our Recommended award, praising its compactness and power. One quibble we had with the iPhone 12 mini was its fairly substantial price, with the 64GB model originally retailing at £699. Today’s deal sees that original price consigned to the annals of history, with the same version of the phone currently going for £509, way down from its average Amazon price of £560.
And we have more good news – the 64GB iPhone 12 mini isn’t the only model on sale right now. There are also excellent savings to be had on the 128GB model if you buy it in red. It currently sits at £529, down almost £100 from its average Amazon price of £620. If storage capacity is paramount for you, you may want to go all the way up to the 256GB version of the handset, which, happily, is also nicely reduced. Buy it in blue and get it for £664, down a whopping £60 from its average Amazon price of £724.
As mentioned above, we were highly impressed with the iPhone 12 mini upon first reviewing it. The phone’s 5.4in AMOLED display allows for a neatly sized phone that won’t stretch your pockets, while still offering great resolution at 2,340 x 1,080, and a super sharp 476ppi. The display also produced great results in technical testing, performing well in tests for brightness and colour variance.
If the display doesn’t suffer for the phone’s smaller size, you might imagine its power or robustness surely would. Happily, this isn’t the case, as the 12 mini employs the same 5nm A14 Bionic chipset as the iPhone 12 and other iPhones of that generation. That and 4GB of RAM give the phone the power and swiftness needed to outperform the competition in a whole range of tests. In terms of sturdiness, the phone boasts IP68 dust and water protection, meaning it can be submerged to a depth of 6m for up to 30 minutes. Our original reviewer also noted that the ceramic shield glass screen protector that comes with the phone worked well, and prevented even small or hard-to-notice scratches or marks being made on the display.
Other notable features of the phone include two 12MP cameras and wireless MagSafe charging system compatibility. The one negative was the phone’s battery life, which was serviceable but not outstanding, with the phone lasting 14hrs 28mins in our looping video test. Although, it makes for a relatively small complaint given the device’s impressive power and breadth of features, as well as its currently massively discounted price.
