We've found the best Amazon Prime Day device deals on Kindles, Echo speakers, Fire TV Sticks and more
The Amazon Prime Day sale is here, meaning now’s the time to scoop gigantic discounts on a range of the company’s devices, including the ever-popular Amazon Echo Dot, the nifty Ring Video Doorbell and the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K.
Keep in mind that you’ll have to be a Prime member to take advantage of them, but the firm is offering a generous 30-day free trial for those who haven’t already signed up. It’s a piece of cake.
To make your life easier, we’ve rounded up the best of these Amazon Prime Day device deals below, but you’ll have to be quick because they won’t be around for long!
Deals on Amazon devices don’t get much better than this: the company’s fifth-generation, pint-size smart speaker, which we showered with five stars out of five and a coveted Expert Reviews Best Buy award in our original Echo Dot 5 review, is now just £22, down from its average price of £44 on the site. If you’re after a cost-effective speaker with a great sound and improved smarts such as a temperature sensor, there’s never been a better time to take the plunge.
Fancy more for your money? This duo of smart home goodies – the Video Ring Doorbell 2 and Echo Pop smart speaker – is up for grabs for the (relatively) miniscule price of £60. That marks fantastic value: the cheapest the Ring Doorbell 2 has ever been on its OWN is £60, so throwing Amazon’s brand new Echo Pop smart speaker (worth £45) into the ring is a very generous add-on indeed. As we mentioned above, we gave Amazon’s security system five stars in our Ring Video Doorbell 2 review, for its strong video quality, clear audio and user friendliness (essential when it comes to the potential foibles of home security systems).
Rounding out our trio of terrific early Amazon Prime Day deals is money off the company’s four-star streaming dongle, which is down to just £35 from its average of £44 on the site. The Fire TV Stick simply plugs into your TV’s HDMI port and then lets you access reams of streaming apps such as Netflix, BBC iPlayer and ITV Hub, as well as allowing you to browse the web and listen to music via Spotify. And, as you might have guessed, it’s got an impressive trick up its sleeve: streaming in 4K, provided your TV also supports it.
The e-reader we dubbed Amazon’s best (in our full-length Kindle Paperwhite review), has also received the Prime Day treatment, and is now flogging for its lowest EVER price on the platform – by a £15 margin. A large screen, slimmed down bezels, enduring battery life and palette of warmer hues for pre-bed readers make the Kindle Paperwhite a premium e-reader. And with holiday season upon us, now’s the perfect time to surrender the paperbacks and go digital for your beach reads. Think of the space you’ll save in your carry-on.
