How to cancel your Amazon Music subscription

Had enough of Amazon’s music streaming service? Here’s our guide on how to cancel your subscription

Amazon Music gives you access to millions of songs and thousands of playlists curated by Amazon’s music experts.

It’s important to note the difference between Amazon Prime Music and Amazon Music Unlimited. The former comes with your Amazon Prime Membership which costs £7.99/mth and gives you access to other benefits such as free one-day delivery and Amazon Prime Video.

Amazon Music Unlimited, on the other hand, costs £9.99/mth (or £7.99/mth if you are subscribed to Amazon Prime). While both services offer ad-free, offline listening and thousands of playlists, the main difference between the two streaming options is that Amazon Music Unlimited – as the name suggests – has much more music on offer. Music Unlimited has around 50 million songs compared to Prime Music’s two million.

So, whether you are an Amazon Prime Music or Music Unlimited customer, read on to find out how to cancel your subscription.

Amazon Prime Music comes with your Amazon Prime membership as part of a larger package. So, you are unable to cancel your Prime Music subscription on its own.

If you have an Android phone, you are also able to cancel your Amazon Music Unlimited subscription via the app. Tap the gear icon and then your plan information. As before, select ‘Cancel Subscription’ underneath ‘Subscription Renewal’. Bizarrely, this method is not supported on iOS devices, so if you want to cancel your subscription on an iPhone or iPad, you’ll have to use Safari or another browser.

If you subscribed to Amazon Music Unlimited through iTunes, you are also able to cancel your subscription through the Apple website. If you signed up via another third party – such as a mobile network – Amazon advises that you contact them for more information on how to cancel.
