Currys sale: EPIC savings plus tech prizes for Jubilee Weekend
To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Currys has slashed prices on hundreds of products – and there’s even prizes to be won
Epic by name, epic by nature. If you’ve been pining after a new TV, computer or household appliance, then Currys ‘Epic Deals’ period may have arrived just in time. There are hundreds of products discounted by up to 30% to celebrate the Queen’s 70th anniversary on the throne, ranging from cut-price smartwatches and heavily reduced 4K Ultra TVs to great-value headphones and smart savings on laptops.
All these deals kick off today, on 25 May, meaning you can get some goodies for less before celebrating the Queen’s big day and relaxing through the bank holidays. The benefits do not stop there though, as every eligible purchase will also put you in with a chance of winning a techy prize via Currys daily, royal giveaways.
Hurry though, this sale – and the chance to win any luxurious prizes, including a Google Pixel 6 smartphone – will come to an end on 7 June.
Queen Elizabeth II may already be the longest-reigning British Monarch of all time, but seventy years is another cause for celebration for all the royalists out there – and it seems Currys agree given the vast scale of this sale. 1. Samsung QE65QN94AATXXU 65in Smart 4K Ultra HD TV (was £2,099; now £1,260)
One of the highest discounted products in the Currys sale is this sleek 65in 4K Ultra television from Samsung. Despite the discounted price being marked at £1,399, you can actually save an extra £139 by entering the promo code 10OFFVIS at checkout, taking the overall price drop to an incredible 40%. You’ll also get up to three months of Apple TV+ to watch on your new bit of kit. Not bad at all.
2. HP ChromeBook X2 11 (was £550; now £449)
In our full length review, we recommended this four-star HP Chromebook because of its impressive battery life, beautiful QHD screen and generally slick design. As a 2-in-1 laptop, it offered us great versatility as both a tablet and laptop during testing and given its price is down to just below £450, its a real steal.
3. Logik LHP8W18 8kg Tumble Dryer (was £350; now £299)
The best option for your finances – and the planet – in 2022, given the cost of living and environmental crises we’re going through, is hedging your bets on a machine that is green. This 8kg heat pump tumble dryer from Logik has an A++ energy rating meaning it is incredibly efficient at drying your clothes evenly, so you can spend less time ironing. For £50 less, taking it below the £300 mark, this is a great pick to future proof your home.
4. Garmin Venu Sq (was £179; now £129)
In terms of value, this Garmin Venu Sq smartwatch is one of the best Currys deals right now. A major boon for music lovers, is that the Venu Sq has offline Spotify playback unlike other smartwatches in this price range. It’s also super lightweight, comfortable and not overbearing for your wrist. We thought it was appropriately priced during our full-length review too, but given it’s now discounted by a whopping £50 – almost 30 per cent off – this is a must buy for anyone looking to dip their toes in the smartwatch world.
5. Samsung Galaxy Earbuds 2 (was £139; now £99)
These four-star earbuds from Samsung have a lot going for them, especially for Galaxy Smartphone users. With its auto switch feature, you can seamlessly and automatically connect between different galaxy devices, which is a real blessing for Bluetooth earbuds. And in general, improved active noise cancellation and bass-rich audio should please your eardrums. At this price, it’ll please your pockets too, given its now just £99 – down from an RRP of £219.
Currys sale: Prize draw
It’s not just discounts that Currys is offering for the Jubilee celebrations, though. Just by purchasing one of its products you’ll be eligible for its platinum prize draw, so long as that purchase is made before 8pm on 7 June and costs £25 or more. That’ll put you in the chance to win one of 70 tech prizes on offer – but you can only enter once per person, so get your family and friends in on the act for a better chance of winning. In fact, the earlier you buy an eligible item, the more likely you are to win since five entrants are randomly drawn every day between 25 May and 7 June.
Just remember to retain your receipt after purchase as you’ll need to enter either your receipt number (from an in-store purchase) or your order number (an online purchase) on the Currys Jubilee website to actually enter the competition.
