Fasthosts boosts web hosting and gives everyone Exchange 2010 email

Fasthosts ScaleUp

Enhanced technical allowances, databases, applications and more

Fasthosts has announced its ‘Scaled-up’ range of shared web hosting accounts, which are designed to make business and personal sites more effective online.

Across the entire range of products, the standard range of features has been given a boost. For starters, storage has been increased by at least four times, with Personal Standard users getting 15GB of web space, Business Standard users getting 100GB of space and Business Premium users getting unlimited storage.

To make accessing this storage easier for a range of users, the number of FTP accounts has been increased, with Personal Standard users getting five accounts, Business Standard users getting 50 accounts and Business Premium users getting unlimited accounts.

With most high-quality sites requiring a SQL database, Fasthosts has boosted its MySQL options. Personal Standard users now get one MySQL database, Business Standard users get five databases and Business Premium users get 10.

Perhaps the most exciting change is the introduction of Exchange 2010 email for everyone no matter which account they’re one. Exchange mailboxes can be accessed via smartphone, but for desktop use a free copy of Outlook 2010 is provided.

For business users, Fasthosts is providing a range of services to increase online visibility. The TrafficDriver SEO tool helps by submitting sites to search engines worldwide, while managing meta-tags. For Business Premium users there’s TrafficDriver SEO High, which guarantees Google listings for 12 months.

To encourage people to sign up, all accounts are currently half-price for 12 months with a choice between Windows and Linux hosting. To check out the offers, have a look at the Fasthosts web hosting page.
