Tesco Mobile is the first UK mobile network to offer 18-month SIM-only deals, and all come with 4G at no extra cost

Finding a good SIM-only deal can be tricky when so many last for just 30 days, but Tesco Mobile has today announced that it will be introducing 18-month SIM-only tariffs for those who want something a bit more long term without signing up to an expensive contract.

With deals starting from just £10-per-month, Tesco Mobile is the first mobile network in the UK to offer these kind of 18-month SIM-only deals, and to make things even better, all of them come with 4G at no extra cost. Likewise, Tesco Mobile’s Capped Contracts promise means that you won’t get any nasty shocks at the end of the month either.

Tesco Mobile has just two 18-month deals on offer at the moment, but we wouldn’t be surprised if more became available in the coming months. The cheapest deal starts at £10-per-month, netting you 1,000 minutes, 5,000 texts and 1GB of data. Alternatively, pay £12-per-month and you’ll get 1,500 minutes, 5,000 texts and 2GB of data.

Anyone who signs up to one of Tesco Mobile’s 18-month SIM-only deals can opt in for Tesco Mobile’s Anytime Upgrade, allowing them to upgrade their handset before the end of the 18-month period without having to pay off their SIM deal or suffer any early termination fees.

These data rich deals are available for anyone who is in the market for making savvy mobile choices and are happy with their handset,” said Simon Groves, Tesco Mobile’s Chief Marketing Officer. Our customers told us that they are happy to commit to a deal for a longer period of time if it means they don’t have to worry about looking around for the best deal. Switching to a SIM-only deal could save these customers hundreds of pounds a year because the cost of a new handset isn’t included in the monthly tariff.”

Last week, Tesco Mobile received high praise in OFCOM’s latest customer complaint report, as it generated the fewest complaints in the pay-monthly mobile market, finishing the last three months of 2014 with just 0.02 complaints per 1,000 customers. This was the first time Tesco Mobile has been included in the report, beating rivals Three, which generated 0.03 complaints per 1,000 customers and O2, which generated 0.04 complaints per 1,000 customers. Topping the list was Vodafone, which generated 0.15 complaints per 1,000 customers and EE, with 0.12 complaints per 1,000 customers.
