Fujifilm has refreshed its line-up of Finepix digital cameras for 2013, introducing nine new models that cover all the bases, including six bridge models and three long-zoom compact cameras.
The high-end S6800, S6700 and S6600 are 16-megapixel bridge cameras, with 30x, 28x and 26x zooms. Each one has OIS image stabilisation, burst mode shooting at 10fps and HD video recording at 1080i60p.
Slightly lower down the range are the Finepix S4800, S4700 and S4600. They have the same 30x, 28x and 26x respective zoom levels, as well as a 16-megapixel sensor and image stabilisation, but are only capable of capturing 720p video at 30fps. Launching in April, expect to pay around £150 for the S4800.
If larger cameras aren't your thing, the JX680 compact is small enough to fit in a pocket yet comes with a 16-megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom, a 3in LCD display and 720p video recording, along with a collection of Fuji's creative filters. It should launch in March for $99, with no word on UK pricing.
Finally, two new long-zoom compacts in the form of the FinePix F900EXR and F850EXR join the refreshed line-up. Both cameras have a 20x optical zoom, 16-megapixel CMOS sensors and EXR II image processing, which will hopefully lead to improved low light performance.
The more expensive F900EXR comes with built-in Wi-Fi and can shoot up to 11 frames a second in burst mode, compared to the F850EXR which can only manage 5fps and lacks any wireless connectivity. The cheaper camera will be available in black, white, red and olive models, while the F900EXR will ship in black, red, champagne gold or navy blue. Again launching in April, the F900EXR is expected to cost £280, with no confirmed price for the F850EXR.
