If you have a UK Amazon Prime subscription, youll be able to access Amazon Prime Video Channels or simply Amazon Channels.
Amazon Channels is an addon to the current Prime Video membership, offering subscribers access to more than 40 third-party streaming channels. These include Discovery, Eurosport Player, ITV Hub, Funimation and several other channels dedicated to specific interests and age groups.
The idea behind the Amazon Prime TV service is that UK Prime members are able to pick and choose from a wide selection of individual streaming channels, rather than signing up for full subscription services they dont want or need.
The service includes a mix of live channels, as well as catch-up content from TV, film studios and rival streaming platforms. You pay a set price for each channel individually and youll get additional content on top of your regular Prime subscription.
Anyone with a Prime subscription whether its a free trial, student subscription or a household shared subscription can sign up for Amazon Prime TV. Once youve subscribed, you can access channels on almost every device imaginable.
How much does Amazon Channels cost?
Youll pay a monthly fee for each channel individually, with prices starting at £1.49 per month. The most expensive channels will set you back £9.99 a month, but most generally sit around the £4.99 mark. Each channel also offers a free trial, but the length of these vary significantly, from seven days to three months

Is paying for Amazon Channels worth it?

The question of whether or not Amazon Prime Video Channels is worth the cost depends on your viewing preferences. Some of the channels appear to be quite costly, especially when you factor in the base cost of an Amazon Prime or Amazon Video subscription.
The service is targeted at viewers with specific interests. There are channels entirely dedicated to anime, reality TV, food, children’s programmes, yoga enthusiasts and more. So if youre nuts about a certain subject, the benefits probably outweigh the additional cost.
If you cant make up your mind, you can always use a free trial before you commit. Thankfully, each channel has its own individual free trial, so you dont have to use them sparingly.
