Oh, I do love a bit of Black Friday irony. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max being on offer during Black Friday is as predictable as a gobby relative complaining about the Brussels sprouts at Christmas dinner or someone dying in the EastEnders festive “special”. 

But that doesn’t mean this is a Black Friday deal you should ignore. Far from it, in fact. We consider the 4K Max to be the best Fire TV Stick available, and you can currently pick one up for the fantastic price of just £40.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max: The joint-cheapest it’s ever been

It’s not the first time the retail giant’s premium streaming stick has hit this price, but it is a joint all-time low, and £25 cheaper than its average price on the platform over the past six months (£65). 

Of course, a discount is only as attractive as the product it’s on, and the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max is a five-star Best Buy. Stuart Andrews reviewed the latest model (2nd Gen) in 2023 and was very impressed by its performance. 

He wrote: “It’s incredibly snappy, quick to load content and switch between apps. In my tests, there’s no noticeable speed difference between Amazon’s fastest streaming stick and the Fire TV Cube until you get to apps and games, even where the Fire TV Cube loaded an app or programme faster, we’re talking tenths of a second.” 

He also went on to praise the excellent picture and audio quality while using the Fire TV Stick 4K Max to stream content from its comprehensive offering of apps and services. “IMAX content on Disney Plus still looks and sounds awesome,” he said, while “4K content from the Google Play store played perfectly well in UHD.”
