The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is 50% off for Cyber Monday

Still expensive; still a technical wonder.

Let’s make one thing clear from the get go: £899 is still a hell of a lot of money for a smartphone — even one that inspires as much wonder as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2. Nonetheless, it is 50% off its normal RRP of £1,799, so if you’ve been looking for a foldable without (quite) breaking the bank, this could be it.
At Amazon, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is available for £899 — a £900 saving on its RRP of £1,799, though recently it’s hovered around the £1,600 mark. It’s only in “Mystic Bronze” as the black version has sold out, unfortunately.
No, it’s not the latest version. That’s the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, which refines the foldable formula further with a faster processor, S Pen support and a (slightly underwhelming) under-screen camera on the foldable display.
It will also set you back quite a lot more, with an RRP of £1,599 — although you can get it for £1,279 with a free S Pen, 25W charger and case on the Samsung site by using the code BLACKFRIDAY at checkout.
If all of this still feels a bit rich for your blood, but you really want a foldable in your life, there is a third way: a pre-owned Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 via 4Gadgets. You can get one for £680 for a “Good” version, or £700 for a “Very Good” model. Personally I’d be somewhat wary about buying a pre-owned foldable given bendy screens aren’t expected to last forever, but it’s ultimately your call.
Whatever you end up getting, both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and 3 offer an enticing taste of the future. Samsung is by far the most accomplished foldable manufacturer and both devices offer wow factor with a dash of practicality. You’re undoubtedly paying more to be a (semi) early adopter, but for some that’s worth the price of entry — and if that applies to you, then you won’t find either cheaper than this on Cyber Monday.
