Virgin Media broadband deals 2023: Get VAST savings this December

These Virgin Media broadband deals are spectacular, but get in there as soon as possible because they may not last for long

Virgin Media broadband deals have a habit of changing frequently so you have to be quick to pick them up. And it’s worth doing so: the internet service provider (ISP) loves to slice huge chunks off the price of its plans, as well as offering free setup. And the current crop is no exception, with stunning savings across the board.

To help you find the Virgin Media broadband deal that closest fits your needs, we’ve rounded up all of the best into the nifty comparison tool below, which automatically updates when offers change. DEAL OF THE WEEK: Get a BRILLIANT broadband offer from Virgin Media

For a limited time, Virgin Media is serving up its M125 plan, which gets you an average download speed of 132Mbits/sec, for a very competitive £26.50/mth on an 18-month contract, with nothing to pay upfront. There are a couple of caveats, though: first, our mixed, three-star review of Virgin Media’s broadband service and second, the fact that the price will rise every April.

What is Virgin Media like as an internet service provider?

Virgin Media broadband was given three stars out of five in our original review. The service is acclaimed for its high-speed broadband, consistently recognised as the fastest provider and often exceeding its advertised speeds. However, its speed advantage is challenged by the rising presence of full-fibre competitors.

The Volt M500 and Gig1 Fibre broadband packages, now bundled with O2 mobile SIMs, represent Virgin’s response to its merger with O2. While these packages are priced reasonably, customers face significant price hikes post-contract, necessitating negotiation at contract renewal.

Virgin Media’s network coverage reaches about 56% of households, primarily in big towns and cities, with a target to expand to 80% by 2026. The company now offers gigabit connections across its entire network, allowing customers on slower tariffs the potential to negotiate speed upgrades.

Despite the high speed, customer satisfaction with Virgin Media is marred by poor customer service and perceived poor value for money. Only 10% of customers were very satisfied with the value offered in our annual survey, and customer service ratings were notably low. Virgin Media also ranked poorly in Ofcom’s broadband complaints league table, further reflecting customer service challenges.

Overall, while Virgin Media excels in providing high-speed broadband, it faces significant issues with customer service and value for money, aspects that require substantial improvement for the provider to maintain its competitive edge in the market.
