This SIM-only deal is amazing value for money

Smarty may not be the most well-known mobile network, but if you’re looking for an affordable data tariff, it’s a damn good one to check out. The MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) has just put up an excellent value deal for those who are in need of a lot of data for very little money.
From now until 5 October, you can get 50GB data, unlimited calls and texts for just £12 per month. It’s a month-to-month contract, so you can leave any time you like – although when it’s this cheap, you probably won’t want to.
Like all of Smarty’s plans, this tariff comes with lots of useful features like no speed caps, no credit checks and roaming in the EU for no additional charge.
While it may not have the big-name reputation like other networks, it is an MVNO, which means it uses a bigger company’s network – in this case, Three’s.
This means that you’ll be getting the exact same coverage as any Three customer, so as long as you’re in an area with decent Three coverage, you’ll be okay. The same reception for a fraction of the price seems pretty good to us.
The one small downside is that Smarty only provides 3G and 4G data. This means if you have a 5G-capable smartphone, you won’t necessarily be getting the best speeds possible even if it’s available.
However, 5G reception still isn’t dominating the scene just yet, and thanks to Smarty’s commitment-free contracts, it will be easy to switch to something more compatible when 5G does finally take over. You’re unlikely to be paying as little as this though!
