Our favourite affordable electric toothbrush, the Oral-B Pro 3 3000, is currently down to just £40 at Amazon
Amazon has shaved a chunk off the cost of the Oral-B Pro 3 3000, bringing it down to just £40, its lowest ever price on record. Originally retailing for £90 (a price we advised against paying in our review), the Pro 3 3000 has since fluctuated in price, bouncing between £40 and £50 in the last month alone. Considering we would have been happy paying £60 for this model, it’s more attractive at this price than a sparkling set of pearly whites.
While there are many high-end options that offer all sorts of advanced functions, on a basic level, you only need your electric toothbrush to do two things: clean your teeth effectively and not require charging every five minutes.
In both of these areas, the Oral-B Pro 3 3000 absolutely soars. On the cleaning front, the Pro 3 3000 offers three modes: daily clean, whitening and sensitive. Each mode has its benefits, with the sensitive mode especially being gentler on gums, making it a great transitional mode for people just starting out with electric brushes.
Improving on the old Pro 3 models, the 3000 is now equipped with the same 360-degree ring light that can be found on the brand’s mid-range and premium brushes. This is much easier to see glowing red if you’re putting too much pressure behind your brush, allowing you to spot it quickly and pull back, avoiding any damage to your teeth or gums.
The battery life of roughly two weeks promised by Oral-B was exceeded in our tests, with the Pro 3 delivering the equivalent of more than three weeks worth of brushes before finally tapping out. Once depleted, you will need to charge the lithium-ion battery overnight before it’s fully juiced, but this is a small price to pay for such excellent stamina.
As standard, this bundle includes a compact travel case and one Cross Action brush head. If you’d prefer to have some extra heads in stock, there’s also an option that comes bundled with four replacement heads. Conveniently, this is also down to its lowest ever price, currently available for just £53, instead of £90.
