Spotify Wrapped 2019 is live! Here’s how to see your top songs, artists and podcasts of the past decade
For 2019, Spotify has additionally compiled The Decade Wrapped, a list of the top songs for each user over the past 10 years
It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
No, not Christmas. It’s time to look back over your favourite songs and artists of the past 12 months via your annual Spotify Wrapped report.
Every December, Spotify collates its user’s listening habits to compile a playlist of their top tracks as well as revealing how many hours were spent listening to individual artists, and using Spotify as a whole. This year, for the first time, you can also see which podcasts were your favourite and how many hours you spent listening to them.
Since January 2019, we’ve streamed a total of 24 hours of Oasis songs, listened to more Dance Pop than any other genre, enjoyed music from artists from 65 countries and spent 35,828 minutes using the app.
In 2019 globally, Post Malone has been the most streamed artist, with more than 6.5 billion streams, with Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande coming in as the second and third most-streamed artists globally.
The year’s most-streamed song was “Señorita” by Shawn Mendes and Camilla Cabello with more than 1 billion streams, followed by Eilish’s hit track “bad guy” with more than 990 million streams.
There are now more than 500,000 podcast titles on Spotify and its audience has grown by more than 50% since the start of the year with The Joe Budden Podcast with Rory and Mal, being the most popular, followed by My Favorite Murder with Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark.
What’s more, as we approach the end of the decade, Spotify has additionally compiled the top songs, artists and podcasts for each user over the past decade. Drake topped our personal list, meaning we played a very small role in the Canadian rapper becoming Spotify’s most-streamed artist of the decade, with a total of 28 billion streams.
Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” has been the most streamed track of the decade with more than 2.3 billion streams while Ariana Grande was the most streamed female artist of the past 10 years, and came fourth overall.
