Nest Learning Thermostat

Sign up to Npower's Intelligent Fix package and nab a Nest Learning Thermostat for £99

Nest has teamed up with energy supplier nPower to sell the Nest Learning Thermostat for just £99 with installation included. A partnership between the two companies was announced when the Nest Thermostat launched in the UK in early April. Now Npower has confirmed the first Nest package, with big savings available.

Intelligent Fix – April 2017 is a new online dual fuel, direct debit fixed tariff that includes the Nest Thermostat to help people reduce their energy bills. Npower is the first company in Europe to partner with Google-owned Nest.

Anyone that signs up to the Intelligent Fix tariff will be able to buy a Nest Thermostat for £99, with installation included. The thermostat and installation normally cost £279.

Npower’s Intelligent Fix tariff locks energy prices until April 2017 and includes an annual fee of £12 on top of standard charges. The deal is available to anyone paying for dual fuel by Direct Debit with online account management.

“With OFGEM saying that U.K. residents spend on average about £1,342 per year on energy, and heating responsible for over 60 percent of the bill, we wanted to help put consumers in control of their energy use,” explained Lionel Paillet, general manager of Nest in Europe.

Nest, which is owned by Google, is responsible for the Nest Thermostat and Nest Protect smart products. The latter is an internet connected smoke and carbon monoxide detector that has been available in the UK since late 2013. However the company was forced to remove it from sale temporarily after concerns were raised that it was inadvertently turning itself off.
