Very returns policy: How to return an item bought online

A guide to sending your stuff back to Very for a refund or an exchange

Bought an item of clothing from Very that doesn’t fit? Changed your mind about a piece of furniture? Had a rethink about a TV, a laptop or a phone? You’ll want to get to grips with Very’s returns policy to make the process as smooth as possible.

Here we outline the steps you need to take in order to return an item that you’ve bought online at Very, whether it’s a small gift or a large household appliance.

What is Very’s returns policy?

Very will replace or refund items that are returned within 28 days of receipt. Goods must be complete, unused, in the original packaging and with any security tags intact, although some items may only be returned if certain conditions are met – pierced jewellery is non returnable once the seal is broken, for example (details are listed on each product page). Returns are free under Very’s Approval Guarantee.

What if I’ve change my mind about an item after ordering it?

Thanks to some pretty handy Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have the right to cancel an order up to 14 days after you’ve received it. The decision to cancel must be clearly communicated to Very using the returns note sent with the parcel or by filling out the online cancellation form that can be submitted by email or post. Very will reimburse the cost of the cancelled item as well as standard delivery charges via the original method of payment. Payment is made within 14 days of Very receiving the returned item.

How to return an item

Once you’ve figured out whether your item is suitable to return for an exchange or refund, you’ll need to log in to ‘My Account’ on Very.co.uk, select the item you want to return, choose a delivery option and use the original packaging where possible. You can stick the returns address label over the original label. For items weighing less than 10kg, you can choose to drop the parcel off using the Collect+ service, giving you access to over 7,000 stores or head to the Post Office (note that if your item weighs more than 10kg, the Post Office may charge a delivery fee). For larger, bulky items like home appliances and furniture, select the Home Collection service to arrange a pick up from your address (you can select a date but not a specific time). All returns services are free.

How to track a returned item

To keep tabs on your returns you’ll need to track your item via the logistics provider you used. If you sent your items back via Yodel, click here; if you sent them back via the Post Office, click here; Collect+ items can be tracked here.

What if an item is faulty?

If you’re returning a faulty non-electrical item you’ll need to log in to ‘My Account’ on Very.co.uk, select the item you want to return and select the reason as faulty before choosing a delivery option as above. If you have a faulty electrical item you’ll need to contact Very as you may be advised to get in touch with the supplier directly to organise a return, refund or repair.
