The return of Emmy and Golden Globe winning series Atlanta has been one of the most anticipated moments of television in 2022. With show creator, writer and star Donald Glover hyping the new season as “some of the best television ever made”, everyone is desperate to get stuck into the latest instalment of the epic comedy-drama.
You can watch Atlanta in the US via FX on satellite TV, or stream it as it happens via Hulu with Live TV. Equally, if you can stomach a little longer wait, British viewers will be able to stream the new season via Disney Plus in the near future.
Four years in the making, Atlanta season three has been a long-time coming. As with the delay of season two, when Donald Glover was starring as Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story, production of season three was set for a scheduled hiatus to accommodate the busy schedule of the talented polymath. The coronavirus pandemic extended that delay a little longer than had initially been planned for, however finally, the hit comedy-drama returned to screens on 24 March 2022.
For those who don’t know, Atlanta-native Donald Glover stars as the Ivy League dropout Earnest “Earn” Marks and Brian Tyree Henry as his rapper cousin Paper Boi – also known as Alfred Miles – as they attempt to hustle their way to the top of the music industry in Atlanta, Georgia. The hit FX Original show also features big name actors like Zazie Olivia Beetz, who plays Vanessa “Van” Keefer, and LaKeith Stanfield, who plays Darius Epps.
If you need reminding about the most recent happenings in Atlanta – and without giving too much away for any new fans – season two ended with Earn, Darius and Alfred heading out to Europe for Paper Boi to support Clark County, played by RJ Walker, on tour. How to watch Atlanta in the US: FX and Hulu
Watching Atlanta in the US is simple if you’ve already got a cable/satellite subscription since the third season will be broadcast on FX; the channel that every season has been released on to date. The first two episodes premiered via FX on Thursday 24 March 2022 while the remaining eight of the season will run weekly until 19 May 2022.
Those without traditional satellite TV can stream the show via a service like Hulu with Live TV. If you can’t catch the action live, or don’t want to pay extra for live TV channels, then each episode is also available to stream the day after it airs in the US via the regular Hulu streaming service. The Disney owned company is exclusively available in the US and offers a huge library of on-demand TV shows like Atlanta’s fellow FX-produced show It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia or movies like the 2020 Academy Award winning film Parasite. How to watch Atalanta in the UK: Disney Plus
At present, there isn’t an official release date for season three of Atlanta in the UK. However, what we do know is that it will be released via Disney Plus since the international version of Hulu (called Star) was added to Disney Plus on 23 February 2021. Given the final episode of the third season is set to premiere on 19 May 2022 in the US, it can be expected that all episodes will hit British streaming in late May or June 2022.
