All ITV channels added to Sky Go just in time for the World Cup

ITV on Sky Go

Football, football and more football as ITV, ITV 2, ITV3, ITV4, CITV and ITV Encore join Sky Go

All ITV channels are now available on Sky Go, doing away with the need to ever use ITV Player on Android, iOS or desktop.

The addition of ITV, ITV 2, ITV3, ITV4 and CITV comes just in time for the World Cup where the broadcaster has exclusive rights to England’s matches against Uruguay and Costa Rica.

Non-football fans can also take refuge, with the new ITV Encore channel being added to the service on 9 June.

As well as watching ITV Encore live Sky Go users can also catch-up on missed episodes from ITV’s library of drama box sets. ITV said on-demand content from other channels would be added sometime in 2014.

“Allowing viewers to access our shows across a range of platforms and devices, both at home and on the move, is a key part of our strategy.

“We’re delighted to offer Sky customers the chance to never miss their favourite ITV shows on Sky Go,” said ITV’s director of pay and distribution Martin Goswami.

Sky Go has over 3.7 million users and has proved especially popular with football fans. A peak audience of 379,000 watches Man City v Chelsea in February, with the addition of ITV bringing more live football to the service.

It is available on recent iPhone and iPad models along with a number of Samsung, HTC, Sony and Motorola Android phones. It is also available on some Samsung Android tablets and Google’s Nexus 7. On desktop it supports Windows XP, Vista and 7 and Apple OS X 10.5 and above.

The service is free for all existing Sky customers and allows them to watch a selection of channels they are subscribed to without needing to be in front of a TV.

A total of 68 channels are available including Sky Sports, Sky Movies, Sky Atlantic, Sky One, Fox and many more.
