Home pizza chefs rejoice, Ooni’s Black Friday sale is here with a massive 20% off sitewide. Three favourites from our best pizza oven round-up, the Ooni Karu 12, Ooni Koda 16 and Ooni Karu 16, are among the discounted products, with all three seeing sizable reductions.
Our favourite all-round pizza oven, the Karu 12, is reduced from £299 to £239, while the stylish Koda is down from £499 to £399. The high-end multi-fuel option, the Karu 16, has dropped significantly, falling from £699 to just £599. One thing to take note of, this sale ends on Tuesday 29 November at 8am, so be sure you’ve got yours before then.
Marrying Ooni’s excellent oven design with a more reasonable price than other models, the Ooni Karu 12 is our all-round favourite pizza oven. Able to hit a maximum temperature of 500˚C (in just 15 minutes, no less), the Karu 12 can cook a 12in pizza in just 60 seconds flat. Weighing only 12kg, the oven is also relatively portable, with its smoke chimney being handily detachable and its four legs tucking neatly away. The Karu 12 can be fuelled by charcoal or wood kindling – with the option of using gas available via Ooni’s gas burner attachment, which is itself reduced from £80 to £64 for Black Friday.
The Ooni Koda 16 is our favourite option for strong physical design. Being gas-powered, the oven is unencumbered by a smoke chimney, allowing it to remain sleek and stylish. It also has a larger capacity than most other Ooni models, and can handle up to a 16in pizza without any hassle. Unlike the Karu 12, the Koda 16 also has a built-in ignition switch, making for a simpler start to the cooking process.
While it may be the most expensive option of the three, with the Ooni Karu 16, you get what you pay for. This surprisingly compact oven can operate off hardwood, gas or charcoal and reaches 500˚C in 15 minutes. Moreover, it has plenty of neat design features such as a digital thermometer at its front, as well as hinged doors and a chimney, allowing you to swap in new pizzas quickly and control temperature and airflow, respectively. Of course, features and design mean nothing if it doesn’t cook a good pizza. Thankfully, through rigorous (and delicious) testing, we’ve determined that it most certainly does.
