Canon Ixus 300 HS review

Canon IXUS 300 HS

Great looks and operational simplicity, plus image quality to rival enthusiast-oriented compacts – it’s a little on the pricey side though.

1/2.3in 10.0-megapixel sensor, 3.8x zoom (28-105mm equivalent), 175g

The Ixus 300 HS is a great camera, but only for a small group of people. Its image quality is a step up from other point-and-shoot cameras, but the difference might be lost on casual users. More discerning photographers who are willing to spend this much might be better served by the S90 or Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3, both of which offer comprehensive controls and slightly better photos for just a few pounds more.
