Dishonored 2 has finally been shown off at E3 this year - here’s everything we know so far

We’ve finally got a bit more information about Dishonored 2, along with an action-packed gameplay trailer showing off what we can expect when the game launches later this year.

The original Dishonored launched back in October 2012 with a big focus on assassinations missions in a dystopian world where you can control how to get rid of your targets. We called it a “dark and beautiful mix of stealth, action and storytelling” and after selling just under 2 million copies worldwide as of May 2016, a sequel was always inevitable.

The action-based stealth game is back and the hype train has already rolled in for the next Dishonored, but what information do we know so far?

Release date and pre-order bonus

Dishonored 2 releases worldwide on 11th November 2016 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, currently priced at £45. For the uber fan, though, there’s also the Collector’s Edition for £90, which includes a bunch of physical and digital goodies such as Corvo’s Mask Replica and Stand, Emily Kaldwin’s Ring Replica and Display Box, a poster and collectible case.

There’s also the Digital Imperial Assassin’s Pack which gives you plenty of in-game items like exclusive bone charms and 500 coins to spend on new gear and equipment. Bethesda also announced that if you pre-order the game early from select retailers, you’ll get Dishonored: Definitive Edition, a remastered version of the first game, for free.

Story and gameplay

There are plenty of new features and gameplay mechanics in Dishonored 2, with the first gameplay footage shedding some light on what we can expect. The steampunk-inspired first person RPG stealth-em-up will yet again be focused on assassination gameplay, letting you choose how to off your targets. Firstly, there’s a brand new city for players to explore, ditching the grey and drab looks of Dunwall and entering the Middle East inspired Karnaca.

You get the choice to play as two characters this time around, either as Empress Emily Kaldwin or as the royal protector, Corvo. Set 15 years after the events of the first game, you’ll yet again be able to choose how you want to play it, through stealth or going in guns (and sword) blazing. It’s pretty much a given there will also be an option to complete the game without a single kill, just like the first game.

You’ll now be able to craft your new abilities and tailor it how you want to go about the game, with plenty of violent ways to get rid of your foes. Dishonored 2 is also running on the new Void Engine, with a significant graphical upgrade from the first game.
