EA will be releasing the latest set of Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare DLC today, and to celebrate has launched a Western-themed trailer to show off the action

EA's hectic Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare receives its latest set of downloadable content today, bringing a range of fixes and tweaks to the Xbox One shooter as well as adding a whole lot of new content. The celebrate the launch, EA has released a suitably silly trailer highlighting some of the Western themed DLC's new additions.

Zomboss Down will introduce eight new characters to the online multiplayer shooter, along with brand new map Cactus Canyon which includes a suitably epic Gardens vs Graveyards finale. Rather than add new plant and zombie types, the new characters are actually different takes on the original line-up, although they should be altered enough to feel like a refreshing change of pace to anyone that has been playing Garden Warfare since launch.

Other new additions include a new sticker pack available through the Sticker Store, which can be purchased with coins earned in-game, 200+ new customisation items and three new consumable plants; the Bamboo Shoot, Fire Peashooter, and Ice Peashooter. 10 new achievements have also been added, and the level cap for each character, which was previously set at 20, will be raised to 30. That means a whole new set of challenges to complete for each character class.

There is a massive list of changes, bug fixes and balancing adjustments also arriving with the DLC, which is too long to include here. You can read the full patch notes in this NeoGaf thread.

The download weighs in at 2.8 gigabytes, so if you're planning to get in a few games today you may want to start that download sooner rather than later. Don't worry about getting out your credit card, though; the Zomboss Down DLC is completely free.
