How to watch the 2019 US Open Championship

The 119th edition of the tournament takes place this week at Pebble Beach in California

American Brooks Koepka will be aiming to win his third-straight US Open Championship.

After successfully defending his USGA title last month, Koepka became the only golfer in history to hold two back-to-back titles in two majors simultaneously.

Not surprisingly, he is one of the three bookie’s favourites to win the US Open this year, along with 2016 winner Dustin Johnson and Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy.

McIlroy is in red hot form, having just won the Canadian Open last week. He became only the seventh golfer to complete the triple crown of victories at the three oldest events on the tour – the Canadian Open, US Open and Open Championship.

Rounding up the top five contenders for this year’s US Open championship are two big American names in Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth.

People who questioned Woods’ ability to win majors were silenced when the 43-year old won his first major in eleven years at the 2019 Masters earlier this year.

Woods was the first golfer to arrive at the course for a few practice rounds last week. Given he has already won this major three times (2000, 2002, 2008), no opposition can take him for granted.

Spieth, 25, has three major victories and is slowly regaining his lost form. With top-ten finishes in his last two tournaments, you can expect to see his name on the leaderboard come Sunday.
