Good Omens has landed on Amazon Prime, here’s how to watch it on any device
All six episodes of the hotly anticipated supernatural miniseries, Good Omens, are available to watch now on Amazon Prime Video.
Adapted by Amazon Studios and BBC Studios, the show is based on the 1990 novel of the same name written by literary legends Neil Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett. Gaiman has also written all six episodes of the miniseries and is the showrunner.
Good Omens follows the journey of two quirky celestial beings – an angel named Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and a devil called Crowley (David Tennant) – as they try to stop the apocalypse.
Despite their obvious differences, the pair must band together in order to stop the 11-year-old antichrist from destroying everything in his path. The only problem is that they seem to have lost him…
If this tale of two unlikely saviours has sparked your interest, read on to find out more about Good Omens and how you can watch it in the UK, US and anywhere else in the world.
Good Omens cast
Alongside David Tennant and Michael Sheen, ex-Mad Men star Jon Hamm plays a huge role in the series as Aziraphale’s boss, the Archangel Gabriel.
Other actors include Line of Duty’s Daniel Mays and Sherlock’s Sian Brooke, who plays the mother of the child antichrist.
Brian Cox (the actor), Jack Whitehall and Benedict Cumberbatch also make an appearance, albeit in smaller roles.
Can I watch Good Omens on TV?
At the moment, Good Omens is an Amazon Prime exclusive but it’s been announced that the show will air on the BBC Two in approximately six months time in weekly installments.
The miniseries was released on Prime Video on 31 May, so it means we’ll probably have to wait until at least 31 November for Good Omens to air on the BBC.
Can I watch Good Omens on Netflix?
Unfortunately, Good Omens is an Amazon Studios and BBC Studios exclusive, so it won’t be available to stream on Netflix.
How to watch Good Omens in the UK
If you’re keen to get stuck into the first season of Good Omens tonight and live in the UK, you can watch the series through Amazon Prime Video.
Don’t already have an Amazon Prime subscription? There are three Prime subscription plans available – all of which have a 30-day trial, giving you plenty of time to binge Good Omens and a couple of other series, too.
Amazon Prime Video costs £5.99 a month but only lets you access Prime Video content, including Good Omens.
In comparison, Amazon Prime costs £7.99 a month but is better value, as it includes access to Prime Video, free next-day delivery, Amazon Music, Amazon Pantry and more.
If you’re ready to commit to a longer-term plan, consider a yearly Amazon Prime subscription for £79 a year as this saves you money at just £6.58 per month.
How to watch Good Omens in the US or anywhere else in the world
Live outside of the UK and want to watch Good Omens in the US, Canada, Australia, France or anywhere else for that matter? You’ll need to sign up for an Amazon Prime or Amazon Prime Video subscription.
In the US, you can get a free 30-day trial, with Prime Video costing $8.99 per month and a full Amazon Prime subscription costing $12.99 per month or $119 per year.
Prices for Amazon Prime in other parts of the world will vary and some countries may not have these plans.
What if Good Omens isn’t available where I am?
If you live in an area where Good Omens isn’t available through Prime, you can access the show using a VPN.
A VPN will change your IP address to trick your computer into thinking its in a different country to the one it’s in.
For example, if you’re in the US, you can download and install a VPN service and use it to change your IP address to a UK one.
This will allow you to access media content from other countries.
So no matter where you are in the world, you can make your computer think it’s in the UK/US or anywhere else where Good Omens is available and watch it on your laptop, PC, mobile or smart device.
There are a few different VPN services available but the best ones will give you the smoothest possible streaming quality.
Our personal favourite is ExpressVPN. There’s 24/7 customer support and useful online tutorials on offer. Better still, Expert Reviews readers can get three months free when they sign up for the 12-month plan.
Will there be a Good Omens season 2?
We’re not sure. Neil Gaiman has said he will not return as the series showrunner if Amazon Prime wants to continue with the story because he’s busy with other commitments.
That doesn’t mean we won’t get to see more Good Omens, though, as the adapted novel could continue with a different showrunner.
