How to watch Chelsea vs Bayern Munich: Live stream the Champions League fixture online

Can Chelsea topple German champions Bayern Munich in the opening leg of their 2019-2020 Champions League round of 16 fixture?

Chelsea welcome Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, 25 February in what promises to be a very tough Champions League round of 16 first-leg fixture. The action gets underway at 8pm, with the game being shown live on BT Sport.

The two English sides in action last week, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, both lost their first leg games, with the Reds suffering a 1-0 defeat at Atletico Madrid and Spurs going down by the same scoreline at home to RB Leipzig.

Chelsea currently occupy fourth in the Premier League – the final automatic Champions League qualification place – and ended a run of four league games without a win by beating Tottenham 2-0 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are currently leading the Bundesliga with 49 points from 23 games, one point ahead of Spurs’ Champions League opponents, RB Leipzig. The club are gunning for their EIGHTH league title in a row and ensured they remained ahead of their rivals with a 3-2 victory over bottom side Paderborn last weekend.

Bayern have been the standout side in the Champions League so far this season, creating more chances, hitting the target more often and scoring more goals than any other side in the competition. They have found the net 24 times to date, with 10 of those goals coming from in-form frontman Robert Lewandowski, who is the competition’s top scorer.

The last English club in Champions League round of 16 action is Manchester City who travel to face Real Madrid on Wednesday, 26 February, at 8pm.

How to watch Chelsea vs Bayern Munich in the Champions League live in the UK

The only Champions League channel is BT Sport after the broadcaster secured exclusive rights to the championship. There are a number of ways to watch BT Sport – even if you don’t have your broadband or TV with BT. It really depends on how you want to watch, how much you want to pay and what TV provider you already have.

If you already have a BT broadband and TV package, BT Sport is included as standard so you can just switch over to the relevant channel numbers, which on BT TV are between 408-419 for SD or 430-432 for HD.

If you already have BT broadband and BT TV but signed up before BT Sport was added as standard (2015), you can add BT Sport to your bundle for an extra tenner a month. If you already have BT broadband but not one of its TV bundles, you can add BT TV to your monthly package and BT Sport will be added automatically.

Sign up for BT TV and BT Sport via BT Broadband

Watch Chelsea vs Bayern Munich in the Champions League live on BT Sport on Sky

If you watch TV via Sky, you can add BT Sport to your list of channels for £29.99/mth for 12 months with a £20 upfront fee directly from BT. This includes access to the BT Sport App at no extra cost. If you’d rather sign up on a rolling monthly contract, the monthly price remains the same but you’ll need to pay £35 upfront but it will be the same monthly fee.

Both options include BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2, BT Sport 3, BT Sport ESPN and BT Sport Extra in standard definition. If you want to watch sport in high-definition, you can add the HD pack for free for three months. It then costs £6.50 a month.

Alternatively, Sky now has new packages that include access to BT Sport channels.

You can now get all Sky Sports and BT Sport channels for £35 per month, saving 35% on standalone monthly subscriptions. Alternatively, you can add BT Sport to your existing package for £25.

New customers can get all Sky Sports and BT Sport channels plus Sky Entertainment for £47 a month – this usually costs £81.

Full details of all of Sky’s new packages can be found here.

It also comes with a £35 setup fee, a £30 network installation fee, and, if you also opt for Virgin’s 4K-ready, V6 box, you’ll also need to pay a £99.95 V6 activation fee. Like we said, far from cheap.

You can, alternatively pay an offer price of £65 a month over 12 months (down from £79) to get the BT Sport Pack in HD and 4K as well as the Sky Sports Bundle on the Bigger Bundle + Sports, which comes with a V6 box. The same installation fees apply, but this is a cheaper way to get access to more channels.

If you’re already a Virgin Media TV subscriber, the BT Sport channels are automatically included in Virgin TV Full House and VIP bundles. New and existing Virgin TV customers taking Player or Mix bundles can then add all BT Sport channels, including BT Sport 4K UHD, to their pack for £18 per month.
