How to watch India vs England: Live stream the second ODI anywhere online

The second ODI between India and England takes places on Friday, 26 March. Here's how to watch it anywhere in the world

England face a must-win game to stay alive in the three-match ODI series. The second one-day international between India and England takes place on Friday, 26 March, at 8am UK time on Sky Sports Cricket in the UK and Disney+ Hotstar in India.

In the first ODI on Tuesday, India scored a mammoth 317 runs in the first innings, thanks to half-centuries from four batsmen – Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and debutant, Krunal Panya. England were cruising at 135-1 in the 15th over and looked to make easy amends of the chase, but then folded like a pack of cards for just 251 runs as debutant Indian bowler Prasidh Krishna took four wickets.

India are one of the best sides in world cricket and England are realising this the hard way. Apart from the first ODI, India also won both the Test series and the recently-concluded T20 Internationals.

England won the opening Test match in early February, but India bounced back strongly to win the next three. By doing so, they knocked England out of the inaugural World Test Championship that will now be played between India and New Zealand in Southampton in June. The T20 Internationals proved to be more competitive as the series went into a deciding fifth game that India won.

England will be without two of their senior members, Joe Root and Jofra Archer, for the ongoing ODI series. The English Test skipper has been rested given England’s busy schedule this year and fast bowler Archer injured himself in the T20 series.

UK viewers can watch all three one day internationals on Sky Sports and Now TV with a Sky Sports membership, whereas viewers in India can watch the same on Disney+ Hotstar in the country. All three ODIs are day-and-night games, meaning it starts at a favourable morning time for UK viewers.

The India vs England ODI series will be followed by the Indian Premier League that begins on 9 April. Some of the English players will stay back in the country and link up with their IPL franchises immediately following this series, so as to avoid having to undergo any quarantine protocols.

How to watch India vs England abroad: use a good VPN service

The only way that you can access Sky, Now Sports and Disney+ Hotstar from outside the UK and India respectively is by using a good VPN service. For both services, you’ll need to create an account if you don’t have one, but it’s easy to do that on both Sky, Now Sports and Disney+ Hotstar depending on whether you watch to stream from the UK or India.

A VPN basically works by creating a secure connection between your device and servers located anywhere in the world. To choose Sky, Now Sports or Disney Plus, simply select the UK or India within the VPN you’re using. Apart from letting you access geo-restricted content in another region, a VPN works by encrypting all your browsing traffic so that no one – not even your ISP – can see what you do online.
