Half price on a smart home security bundle
Amazon smart home products like the Echo Dot and Blink XT2 security camera are receiving enormous price cuts in the run-up to Black Friday, which is great news for anyone hoping to jump on the smart home bandwagon.
Right now, you can nab a bundle containing both the Echo Dot and the Blink XT2 for £75, saving you 50% over the original price of £150. If you’re dead set on adding some smarts to your home but you’re not sure where to begin, this combination is an excellent choice.
The Echo Dot has long been one of our favourite smart speakers. We gave it five stars and a Recommended award, describing it as the cheapest way to get into the world of smart speakers – if you don’t mind sacrificing audio quality.
Alexa can answer any burning questions, read weather/news/traffic reports, play music/radio/podcasts, set alarms, manage your calendar and make announcements, among many other things.
In addition, Alexa can manage all manner of extra smart products, including the Blink XT2 home security camera. Combining the two allows you to control the Blink cameras with your voice: Ask Alexa to arm your Blink home security system as you walk out the door and the cameras will switch on without requiring any physical input from you.
This specific deal only applies to a one-device package: the more Blink XT2 cameras you add, the worse the discount gets. Specifically, you can nab two cameras for £135 (down from £230), three cameras for £195 (down from £310) and five cameras for £300 (down from £450). At the time of writing, only the one-camera and three-camera offers are in stock.
If you like the sound of a home security system that you can switch on via voice command, we recommend moving swiftly; this offer will no doubt evaporate into thin air once Black Friday has ended.
