How to watch The Bachelorette: Stream the drama from the US, UK and abroad

The Bachelorette is back for its 19th season – here’s how to catch it no matter where you are in the world

US reality show The Bachelorette is returning for its 19th season, and with it a tumultuous world of dates and drama. The Bachelorette first aired in 2003 as a spinoff to popular dating show The Bachelor, and the premise is that one woman, the eponymous “Bachelorette”, selects a potential partner from a group of eligible singles.

The show will premiere to US-based viewers at 8pm ET on Monday 11 July on ABC and will air every Monday night for the rest of the season. Stateside watchers will also be able to stream The Bachelorette on ABC’s website or app. Alternatively, it will be available for streaming on Hulu and FuboTV. Viewers further afield, meanwhile, will have to resort to using a VPN. We’ve detailed our duo of favourites below.

But there’s something different about this year’s The Bachelorette. In a major shakeup, there will be not one but two Bachelorettes – self-professed best friends Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia – who are both embarking on their quest to find a partner at the same time. Meanwhile, it’s reported a whopping 32 men will be competing for their affection.

If this sounds like the sort of show to sustain you through a summer of heatwaves and hangovers, read on for our full explainer of how to watch The Bachelorette from the US, UK and elsewhere.

How to watch The Bachelorette in the US

If you’re in the US and have cable TV, you’ll be able to catch The Bachelorette every Monday night on ABC at 8pm ET from Monday 11 July until the end of the season. It hasn’t yet been announced what day the finale of this season’s The Bachelorette will air. You’ll also be able to stream the reality dating show on ABC’s website and app the day after each episode airs.

Meanwhile, if you don’t have cable TV, The Bachelorette will be available to stream on Hulu. You can subscribe to the streaming platform for just $6.99/mth with ads, or pay $12.99/mth for the ad-free option.

The Bachelorette will also be available on FuboTV, a premium sports-focused live TV streaming platform. The US-based service has emerged as a leading contender for the best alternative to cable TV, but it’s not cheap. Subscriptions start at $70/mth, so unless you’re going to make the most of the reams of channels that FuboTV has on offer, it might make sense to stick with Hulu. If you’re on the fence, FuboTV offers a seven-day free trial during which you can try its services on for size.

How to watch The Bachelorette in the UK and abroad

If you’re travelling abroad, you may find that your access to content on your favourite streaming service is geo-blocked. This means if you’re on holiday or a business trip, you won’t be able to tune into The Bachelorette and kick back and relax. However, a virtual private network (VPN) could be just the ticket for you. We’ve detailed two of our favourite VPNs for streaming services below.

ExpressVPN: When it comes to VPNs for streaming, ExpressVPN is our favourite. You’ll get rapid connection to a raft of worldwide servers (over 3,000 in more than 94 countries) on up to five devices simultaneously. A logical, user-friendly interface makes this VPN a pleasure to use, while its privacy policy comes highly recommended: it only stores session information in RAM, so it’s never on a hard disk. A handy “kill switch” pulls the plug on internet access if your connection to the VPN is lost, so you don’t run the risk of accidentally channelling traffic through your regular ISP. Also, ExpressVPN has a 30-day free trial and if you buy it through the link below, you can get an extra three months free — it’s pretty hard to find fault with that.

NordVPN: Also highly recommended is Nord, which offers very fast speeds and an independently audited zero-logs privacy policy. It’s a bit cheaper than ExpressVPN, so a good option if you’re on a budget, and it lets you connect to up to six devices simultaneously. The map-based interface is easily navigable, which is great if you’re new to the world of VPNs and are finding things a bit confusing.
