If you’ve been umming and ahhing about whether or not to invest in the Amazon Fire TV Stick, now’s the time to strike. Not only is the original streamer reduced to £25 as part of Amazon’s spring sale, but the 4K Ultra model is down from £50 to £35, making it cheaper than the regular price of the original.

In our five-star review of the Amazon Fire TV Stick, we praised its speed and voice-control capabilities: “The first-generation Fire TV Stick was great, but lacking oomph. This new stick is more versatile, and thanks to its quad-core processor it’s super quick. Alexa is a great addition too.”

We also said that £40 was “incredible value” so, at the even cheaper price of £25, this deal is certainly worth considering.

Now, instinctively you might think that the 4K streamer is the one for you, but it actually may very well not be. Why? Well, most 4K televisions have apps built in, meaning you don’t need to block out one of your HDMI ports with this. At the very least, look at the list of apps your TV supports and the ones the Fire TV Stick has before making your purchase.

That said, in our review of the 4K Fire TV Stick, we said it was similarly one of the best-value 4K streaming sticks on the market: “It has most of the catch-up TV apps and premium streaming services you could ever need and it’s compatible with an impressive range of HDR standards out of the box.”
