Watch Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2021 Final on Friday, 15 October anywhere in the world

Chennai Super Kings will face the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2021 Final. The game takes place in Dubai on Friday, 15 October at 3pm British Standard Time.

You can watch the game live on Sky Sports in the UK, ESPN+ in the US, and Disney+ Hotstar in India. If you're on holiday abroad, you can access all three streaming services using a good VPN, like ExpressVPN.

Apart from the Mumbai Indians - who have won a record five IPL titles - Chennai and Kolkata are the next two successful franchises with three and two IPL wins apiece. Chennai have also come runners-up on five occasions, while Kolkata have a flawless record in IPL Finals. Chennai last won the IPL in 2018 after a seven-year gap, whereas Kolkata won the tournament in 2014.

What's even more impressive is Kolkata Knight Riders' record this tournament. They started off with just two wins from seven games before the tournament was halted in India, but then won six of their next eight games in the UAE to secure qualification to the knockout rounds.

IPL 2021 resumed on 19 September 2021 in the UAE after a four-month postponement. The tournament which began in April in India came to an abrupt halt - with 31 matches remaining - in early May after an increasing number of coronavirus cases both in the country and within team contingents.

The decision to move IPL 2021 to the UAE was taken mainly because of the monsoon season in India that can run until October in some parts of the country. The IPL 2021 Final is scheduled to be played on 15 October 2021, just two days before the start of the T20 World Cup, which also takes place in the UAE, and Oman.

Hotstar is a popular digital and mobile entertainment platform launched in 2015 by Star India, the largest Indian broadcasting network.
