How to watch the Europa League Final: Watch Chelsea versus Arsenal for free in the UK

London-rivals Chelsea and Arsenal face off in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Wednesday, 29 May, at 8pm BST

This is the first time that two English teams will face off in the Europa League Final since the tournament’s inaugural year in 1971-1972.

It’s also the first time that four teams from England have qualified for the biggest and second-biggest European club competitions in the same year. Later in the week, Liverpool will go up against another London team Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final in Madrid.

Considering everyone in the UK expected football to “come home” last year, it’s good to know that – regardless of the outcome of next week’s games – football’s two biggest trophies will both be in England this year.

The Europa League Final takes place at the Olympic Stadium in Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku, on Wednesday, 29 May. Kickoff is at 8pm.

Arsenal’s Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has decided not to participate in the Europa League Final because of concerns for his safety. Neighbouring nations Armenia and Azerbaijan have had long-running disputes and the midfielder has chosen to stay in London after discussions with his family.
