Love Island 2019 has arrived. Here’s how you can watch it in the UK, US and anywhere else overseas

The new series of Love Island has started and if last year is anything to go by, series five is set to be a scorcher.

We might only be a few episodes in, but plenty of drama has already gone down in the villa.

Saturday's episode, which airs some of the weeks best bits and unseen clips, appeared to show the arrival of several new islanders.

Last year, Love Island’s launch show brought in a whopping 3.4 million viewers, so it’s no surprise that ITV2 got working on this year’s show asap.

In fact, Love Island producers have hinted that the show is likely to run for at least another five years - that’s a whole lot of villa gossip to look forward too.

If you’re eager to keep up to date with all the flirting, fights and romance in the villa, keep reading and we’ll tell you how you can watch the entire series of Love Island on any device, wherever you are.

How to watch Love Island on TV in the UK on your TV, mobile, laptop and other devices

UK viewers probably already know you can watch the show live on ITV2 but if you haven’t got the channel or can’t access it right now, you can also watch it live on the ITV website or via the ITV Hub app.

If you can’t watch Love Island live or just need to catch up away from home, you can also grab a subscription to ITV Hub+ via Amazon Channels, allowing you to stream Love Island on your mobile, laptop, tablet and more. There’s a free 7 day trial, then it’s £3.99 a month thereafter. ITV Hub+ has a wide selection of other popular programmes available for catch-up too, so it’s worth the investment there’s lots of stuff you like on there.

How to watch Love Island in the US or anywhere else abroad

Live outside of the UK but can’t get enough of Love Island? Here’s how you can watch Love island in the US and abroad.

If you want to watch Love Island from within EU countries, you can do this via ITV Hub+. However, this is restricted to catch-up only, which means that you won’t be able to watch Love Island live this way.

You can watch Love Island live in the US using a VPN. This will change the location of your IP address from a US to a UK one, tricking your computer into thinking it’s in the UK, thereby allowing you to access UK shows.

To do this, you’ll need to download and install a VPN, choose the right server location - in this case, the UK - and then find somewhere to watch ITV2 online. TVPlayer.com is a free and easy way to watch most UK freeview channels online, simply sign up for a free account. Alternatively, you can watch it via the ITV website using a VPN.

Our top three VPN choices to watch Love Island in the US are ExpressVPN, NordVPN and Surfshark, as they offer the smoothest possible viewing with little to no lagging - an issue that can often arise when using VPNs.

Among all the VPNs we reviewed, ExpressVPN is the fastest VPN by far. It has 24/7 customer support and useful online tutorials. Even better, our readers get three months free when they sign up for the 12-month plan.

NordVPN lets you encrypt your connection on up to six devices, meaning you and your friends can enjoy the Love Island experience together. Its entire service has been independently audited to prove that they don’t log any user data.

Surfshark VPN only launched last year, but its impossible to tell because it has features on par with services that have been around for much longer, including 24/7 customer support, apps for every device and one of the cheapest long-term VPN plans.

When does Love Island 2019 start and how long will it be on for?

Series five started on Monday, 3 June at 9pm BST and subsequent episodes will air Monday to Friday on ITV2 at 9pm BST. There's also a special episode every Saturday replaying some of the weeks best bits, as well as some unseen clips that didn't make it on the weekly shows. If that's not enough, you can also watch Caroline Flack's Aftersun show every Sunday from 10pm.

Each show will run until 10:05pm, but you can watch it after the event too.

As for the series' length, Caroline Flack announced during last night's show that it will run for eight weeks, which is great news for Love Island fans.

Meet the Love Island 2019 contestants

12 islanders have now settled into the luxury Mallorca villa. As we know by now though, there will be plenty of others joining them, as those left without a partner at the end of each ‘coupling’ are eliminated.

Here’s who’s steppied (bare) foot inside the villa first:

Yewande Biala, 23, Dublin

As a scientist, you might not think the Love Island villa would be Yewande’s first choice of abode. She disagrees with this though and has said she’s following in the footsteps of many intelligent reality TV stars.

Amber Gill, 21, Newcastle

Amber is a beauty therapist and wants to find someone is the villa with a great sense of humour to be daft with. The ‘Tom Hardy’ fanatic is all about self-love and gives herself a full ten out of ten. She also “really, really” loves dogs - apparently.

Amy Hart, 26, Sussex

Cabin crew manager Amy has said she’s going in the villa to find “the one”. She wants someone to travel the world with and isn’t interested in childish flings. We reckon this might be a bit of a struggle in the Love Island villa, but we’re rooting for her nonetheless.

Lucie Donlan, 21, Cornwall

Professional surfer Lucie is looking for someone just like her - blonde and sporty. She already has ties to Love Island, having dated previous contestant Charlie Frederick, so perhaps it's no surprise she was picked to be one of the first 12 islanders.

Anna Vakili, 28, London

There were rumours insta-famous Anna Vakili might be entering the villa with her sister Mandi for a while. Turns out those rumours were at least half true, as we’ll be seeing Anna on 3 June. The pharmacist said she wants to show off her brains, as well as her glam looks, and thinks she’s a little bit different to previous islanders.

Tommy Fury, 20, Manchester

As the younger brother of heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury, it’s likely Tommy will be a popular addition to the villa. He said his woman of choice needs to be sporty, blonde and have a good tan. Despite his famous big bro, Tommy wants to be known for his own boxing achievements, as well as his “honest, charismatic and charming” personality. His words, not ours.

Anton Danyluk, 24, Scotland

Self-confessed serial-cheater Anton is likely to shake things up a bit in Mallorca. He’s admitted he has a wandering eye and thinks Love Island will be a huge test for him. The Gym Manager believes his good work ethic might help him find the one, but he’s also looking for a blonde who loves to work out as much as he does.

Michael Griffiths, 27, Liverpool

Joker Michael has boasted about his job as a firefighter, labelling himself as a bit of a hero. He’s said he’s looking for an intellectual in Mallorca, someone he can have a deep and meaningful conversation with. Oh, and she has to have a nice bum too, of course.

Sherif Lanre, 20, London

The multi-talented Sherif wants someone who’ll make him laugh on the island, even though he reckons his laugh is pretty ugly. The chef and semi-professional rugby player won’t have to worry about putting people off too much though, as talented athletes appear to be in high demand with this year’s contestants.

Curtis Pritchard, 23, Shropshire

We thought Curtis looked familiar. Turns out we were right. The Ballroom and Latin dancer is the younger brother of Strictly Come Dancing’s AJ Pritchard. According to him, a busy dancing life means he’s not really found the time to meet anyone, claiming he’s been on fewer than ten dates. He reckons he doesn’t have a type, that love is blind and that he’ll always be loyal. We’ll get to see how true that is when he enters the villa.

Joe Garratt, 22, London

Catering company owner Joe describes himself as a “cheeky chap” and is looking to find a real connection with someone in the villa. He says he’s an old romantic but doesn’t take life too seriously, so he’s looking for someone to have a bit of fun with, too. He rates himself as an 8.5/10, but he’ll have to wait and see if his island companions agree.

Callum Macleod, 28, Wales

Aircraft Engineer Callum describes himself as a party boy, which appears to be true if his Instagram page is anything to go by. He’s said he’s looking for a petite blonde to settle down with and hopes he’ll find “the one” in Mallorca. Callum will have plenty of competition though, as blonde hair seems to be the colour of choice this year.
