As part of the Amazon Prime Day sale, the GHD Original IV's price has dropped to just £74. That's a saving of 32%, or £35
GHD may have released a wave of straighteners, styling tools and hair dryers in recent years but its Original IV – the now iconic pair of straighteners with the ceramic yellow plates – is still a bestseller. It’s why it still regularly sells for its full price of £109.
The Original IV has only been cheaper once in recent years and that was way back in 2017 when it dropped to £65. We’ve rarely seen it drop below £90 since then.
It doesn’t have the smart features of the GHD Platinum Plus but it does match its more advanced sibling in many other ways.
This includes the fact it regulates its 185°C temperature – what GHD claims is the optimum temperature to style hair without causing unnecessary damage – it takes 30 seconds to heat up, and it automatically turns off after 30 minutes. They both come with a 2.7m cable, too.
You can use the GHD Original IV to create poker straight styles as well as curls and waves and it has a rounded barrel to avoid your hair getting caught or snagged.
One reason why GHD straighteners how their value so well is because, as well as providing fantastic results, they also last for years.
We had our first pair of Original IV straighteners for more than six years before we upgraded to the Platinum Plus, and even then it wasn’t because they’d stopped working.
£74 may still seem like a high price to pay but it’s an investment we know you won’t regret!
If, instead, you’ve been looking to get the GHD Glide, this hot brush styler is also included in the Amazon Prime Day sale.
The first professional hot hair brush from GHD tames and smooths dry hair and is perfect for second-day hair, when you need to style it but you don’t want to wash it.
It usually retails for £140 but it’s on offer for £94. The cheapest it’s ever been.
The GHD Glide eliminates frizz with its ceramic and ionic technology and comes with the same 185ºC optimal styling temperature as the GHD straightener range.
It turns off after 60 minutes of not being used and comes with a 2.7m cable.
Amazon Prime Day deals are only open to Prime members but you can sign up via a 30-day free trial and cancel the subscription, free of charge, if you don’t want to continue with the benefits.
