Still expensive, but the Dyson Supersonic is a hair dryer in a league of its own.
When it was announced that Dyson was going to make its own hair dryer, a few eyebrows were raised. But it turned out to be about the best hair dryer you can buy, albeit with a price that puts it beyond the reach of most people.
But for Black Friday, Dyson is having an excellent sale on refurbished models, complete with 30 day returns and a one-year warranty. Instead of the £300 RRP, the refurbished Dyson Supersonic hair dryer will cost you £189.99.
Granted, that’s still not exactly impulse-buy territory, but the Dyson Supersonic is no ordinary hair dryer. Utilising the same hollow circular design as seen on Dyson’s (also very expensive) fans, the Supersonic offers phenomenally fast drying with quiet performance in a well-built package. If any hair dryer could justify a £300 price tag, this is it.

The price is still, undoubtedly a sticking point, but even at £300, our reviewer was somewhat smitten. “Most people would probably baulk at paying £300 for a hair dryer, but having used it solidly for two weeks, I have to say it’s been very difficult indeed going back to my old hair dryer,” she wrote. “The Supersonic is very expensive, but once you’ve tried it you’ll know it’s worth every penny.”
